Find your founding spark

Write a short reason for why your school needs a quantum club. Keep it beginner-friendly and exciting.

Recruit 3–5 students

Build a small founding team with students interested in physics, computer science, engineering, math, outreach, or design.

Identify a Faculty/Adult Advisor

Ask a teacher, counselor, STEM coach, or approved adult to support logistics, safeguarding, and school rules.

Submit school club paperwork

Use your school’s club approval process. Adapt QYN’s mission, values, and meeting plan for your application.

Launch your first meeting

Start with a quantum intro, the Qubit Playground, a simple learning activity, and a sign-up plan.

Roles

A simple operating model for each chapter.

Role Responsibilities Good fit for
School Ambassador / President Leads the chapter, runs meetings, coordinates with QYN, and represents the school in the network. A student who enjoys organizing, teaching, and bringing people together.
Vice President Supports meetings, helps manage projects, and steps in when the ambassador is unavailable. A reliable builder who can keep momentum moving.
Faculty/Adult Advisor Provides school oversight, helps ensure safety and compliance, and supports logistics. A teacher, counselor, STEM coach, or approved adult.
Chapter Members Learn, participate, build projects, attend events, and share knowledge. Any curious student, including absolute beginners.
Chartering checklist

Before launch, make sure these are done.

  • Founding student team identified.
  • Faculty/Adult Advisor identified and school requirements reviewed.
  • Club mission, meeting cadence, and conduct expectations drafted.
  • First four meeting topics selected from Quantum Quest.
  • Student privacy and communication rules reviewed.
  • Chapter submitted to QYN directory after school approval.
